Rene Nielsen (From the Beat Bizarre project) and Dj Banel (one of the founders and owners of Iboga Records), are behind this project, which started in 2004.

The two Danes have been active with electronic music since the early nineties, when they bought their first equipment for sound production. Since then they both were into various projects before they again joined forces as Behind Blue Eyes. They used most of 2005 developing their sound and a first album together.

LIVE:
It has from the beginning been a goal to make the Behind Blue Eyes live set interesting and in development all the time. The live set is very different from the original tracks, and a lot of effort has been put into cutting up the tracks in small sequences and re-mastering these, where after the sounds has been puzzled together in new compositions.

Banel is very proud when the talk comes to the live, as he believe that the live very strong and has already seen massive success where played.

A first "BBE" presentation was played in Denmark on August 6th 05, at a labelparty in Copenhagen, and an album presentation was played at another label party in Copenhagen on October 29th, 2005. In December 2005 they played their first live set outside Denmark, in a forest location outside Melbourne, Australia.

In 2006 Behind Blue Eyes has played in Spain (Freaky Dragons Festival), Denmark - Copenhagen (Iboga Label Party June 2006), Austria (Spirit Base Festival) And Mexico City ("Iboga Mexico" Label Launch-Release Party for the Tabernanthe 2 - Back to the roots CD)

Summer of 2006 action included a live set in Croatia - July 2006 at the "UWOG" Festival in Pula and a set at Voov Experience in Germany, August 2006.

In 2007 Behind Blue Eyes has played live at Sonica festival in Italy and in Mexico (Mexico city & La Paz) as well as in Copenhagen and at "Morning Glory II" in Israel.

RELEASES:
First release from the duo was on the "Playground" compilation from Iboga (2004), where the track "Goose Bump" was featured. The full lenght album "Behind Blue Eyes" was released on Iboga Records in November 2005. A first edit of the album track "Remember This" was released in March 2006 on the compilation "Highway" from Portugese label Digital Oracle.

In May 2006 a track called "Diamond in the rough", written with Yuli Fershtat aka Perfect Stranger, was released on Iboga Records Summer Collection Vol. II by Banel & Emok, another version was released on Flow records "Daily Basis" compilation in June 2006.

The track "Deep Impact" was written for the compilation Tabernanthe 2 - Back to the Roots, compiled by DJ Vedant & Banel, released June 2006 on the new label "Iboga Mexico".

The Track "Blood, Sweat & Tears" appears on the compilation "Nuance" from Iboga Records in December 2006.

Behind Blue Eyes has begun remixing other artists as well, and first remix is of the Wombat (Sun Control Species) track "Ride Control". The original appears on Open Records from Australia and on Iboga Records. Secondly a remix of the Perfect Stranger track "Hyperdrive" has been written.

In 2007, Behind Blue Eye released a double cd, with a live recording and a full length cd of remixes by internationally renowned artists.
Behind Blue Eyes is after the summer of 2007 only consisting of Michael Banel. Rene has retired.

Behind Blue Eyes is currently working on collaboration with flowjob, featuring Dutch Female DJ Joyce Mercedes, as well as various other’ collaborations, remixes and new tracks during the remainder of 2007 and into the new year 2008.
